Private pilot Emmanuelle Aygat recounted her experience flying a small airplane in the 2024 Rallye de Tarfaya with an all-women crew. This legendary 9-day rally follows the route of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and other pioneering Aeropostale pilots across the Pyrenees, Spain, the Mediterranean, and Morocco, down to a remote airstrip near the Mauritanian border.

 

A 25-year veteran with Airbus, Emmanuelle Aygat, took up flying gliders when she was 14, became an instructor at age 21, and has made many cross-country flights. She earned her private pilot’s license for light aircraft in 2010. 

Emmanuelle has held various positions at Airbus, including marketing, training, customer services, and corporate affairs. She is currently on special leave with the Toulouse municipal government, training trade school students for integration into the workforce.
